To provide consultancy, scoping and design to enable the upgrade of Network Rail authorised access points, facilitating safe workforce access to maintain and upgrade the rail infrastructure.
Compliant with Network Rail’s technical work scope and BCM requirements, EQUATE produced a survey specification and carried out on site-surveys to provide the information required for the design process. This included topographical, p-way and structural surveys to support the project.
Using the survey model produced, EQUATE designed access points and other elements including Road/Rail Access Points (RRAP), pedestrian access points, access roads, staircases, fencing, cable management sleepers (CMS) and service protection/diversion.
Regular collaborative constructability review meetings were held with the client to ensure compliance and the Route Asset Manager (RAM) team was consulted regarding embankment stabilisation and risk categories to assist with the design process. The collaborative approach enabled the design to be progressed through interdisciplinary checks (IDC), interdisciplinary review (IDR) and client review prior to approval by Network Rail.
In line with the Network Rail route works delivery procedures, EQUATE produced the relevant compliant drawings, F003 NCD submissions and associated deliverables safely and on time.
